What do I mean by the Shadow?
I subscribe to a "Jungian" psychological school of thought here. There is power in the "Shadows" of our psyche, parts of ourselves we have hidden.
In childhood we discover powerful things that can get us into trouble with our caretakers. We may have been shamed about pleasure, curiosity, and our bodies. From this energy of shame and sometimes rage, we locked those experiences away and lose parts of ourselves. When we go into the taboo, into shadowy recesses, we can find these parts of ourselves, embrace them, integrate them, and thereby become whole again.
Another thing that is so powerful here is the ability to surrender. When we are able to trust and surrender, we can feel more connected to Love, Life and Spirit.
